Trip to Paradise Dam with Pizzas

Ride Leader – Peter H.

Eleven bikes turned up for the ride. Not a bad effort. Must have been the pizzas. That also included a visitor Johan Zwolak on a Hayabusa who found us on the net so it does work. Good to see Pete and Linda on the MV as well. We got away a little late but that was no problem as there was no rush.

We headed for Gin Gin via the Ceders and on to Tirroan where we turned left and travelled via the Currajong Creek hills. Interesting country. With no breaks, we went straight to Biggenden for smoko although a number of riders found it hard to ride past the entrance to the Paradise Dam.

We had a long break at Biggenden as we were ahead of schedule. After some chinwagging, we headed off to check out the Biggenden mine. We did this because most of us had not seen the Biggenden mine. Now we have. Not much else I can say about it.

Off we went to the Dam via the Gooroolba road only to be blasted into the weeds on the windy bits by a noisy R1. It is great ride though. We did arrive early but the people were very accommodating and cranked things up for us.

We maintained out tradition of having pizzas coming out our ears and eventually had to ask them to stop cooking. Ken and Barbara joined us by car as they were in the neighbourhood. Kevin and Wendy unfortunately had to miss out on the pizzas because they had just embarked on a diet of bark and lettuce leaves.

It was time to go and as most of us wanted to watch the Moto GP at Phillip Island, we bolted for home with no breaks. Thanks to Warren for being Tail End Charlie.
