Jason is a relative new comer to motorcycling; only riding since 2008. Apparently, while a little under the effects of alcohol, he had a sudden thought of what it would be like to ride a motorcycle. While most of us would not take this any further after recovering from the effects of drinking, Jason  was intrigued enough to continue this train of thought and shortly after found himself learning to ride a Suzuki GN 250.

Once licensed, he purchased a BMW F800S and started to enjoy all that motorcycling can bring. Wisely Jason continued his training with an advanced rider training course at Morgan Park raceway and has also participated in two Championship ride days at Queensland raceway.

Unfortunately, like many of us Jason has also experienced the downside of motorcycling when the BMW met its demise on the Paradise Dam road. Luckily apart from a bruised eye socket and some damaged pride Jason was OK and the CBR was soon sourced as a replacement. This was later replaced by the Diavel, a bike that always turns heads.

Jason notes that the freedom and acceleration a motorcycle provides is for him the most enjoyable part of riding. When asked if there was a major thing in life that he has gained from motorcycling he replied “I have met some interesting personalities through motorcycle riding and find if you listen you can acquire a wealth of information not only about motorcycles but life itself from others.”

Jason was born and has lived in Bundaberg his entire life. Keen to help others he gave up a “dead end job” and went to university to obtain a Bachelor of Science (nursing) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Health. He now works as a clinical nurse at the local mental health unit. When not motorcycling or working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kathryn and their four year old daughter as well as keeping fit and renovating the family home. Kathryn also rides and often accompanies Jason on club rides on her Kawasaki ninja 250. Recently however this has been somewhat reduced unless a grandparent is able to undertake bay sitting duties for the day.
