Off to Boonooroo today in what looks like excellent riding weatherWayne couldn’t start the ride with us as he had a call out for work around kick off time. 19 riders including 2 pillions and a host of guest riders headed off down Goodwood Rd after a small amount of confusion about how to mark the corners for the following riders (it didn’t happen). Cruising along Goodwood Rd and the ride leader is overtaken by Harry in a hurry. Hmm, he’ll slow down and join the rest of us won’t he. Too bad that we turned off at Foleys Rd and Harry was nowhere in sight as he was still trying to catch the phantom riders in front of us.
The rest of the pack took the scenic route and came in the back way to Childers at the peanut van. Somewhere around here we lost a guest rider on a Moto Guzzi due to oil problems. Down the Isis highway through the curly bits and onto Biggenden. As we pulled into the servo at Biggenden, there was Harry. He beat the lot of us.
Half an hour for smoko at the servo and then we were off to Maryborough via Brooweena. Not a bad ride through there. Through Maryborough and along the straights to the Boonooroo esplanade. Here Wane re-joined us (must be a quick worker) and on we went to the Boonooroo Golf club after seeing all there was to see at the boat ramp. Arrived at the golf club right on 12 noon. All without a watch or a mobile phone. Marvellous. Lunch was very good and even came with dessert.

Feeding time

After about 90 minutes at the golf club, we were nearly outnumbered by golfers. Time to go so it was a quick trip home via the Bruce with a fuel stop at Torbanlea. Not a bad day out.
